Why we built this
I'm Amr — Doha-based, water-obsessed, and the founder of SurfX.
The honest truth is SurfX started as a personal frustration. Every weekend, the same routine: I'd want to wakeboard, or take friends to a beach club, or find a hotel pool with a decent day pass — and every single time, the booking flow looked like this: open Instagram, scroll for a venue, switch to WhatsApp, message the operator, wait, get a price, ask if Saturday morning is free, wait some more, find out a different venue is cheaper, restart.
Doing this once or twice a month is fine. Doing it every weekend, for years, is exhausting. And the problem isn't the venues — they're great — it's that there's no single place where Qatar's lifestyle inventory actually lives. The information is scattered across Instagram bios, WhatsApp threads, and a few half-broken booking forms.

What we're building
The first version of SurfX is built around three simple ideas:
One app, every move
Every category in one place — beach clubs, water sports, hotel day passes, water parks, family activities. No bouncing between Instagram and WhatsApp.
Transparent pricing
The price you see is the price the venue charges. We don't mark up venue rates or hide fees behind "request a quote." If a Friday rate exists, you'll see it.
Local, not lifted
Built in Doha, for Doha. The picks, the timing tips, the ladies-day rates, the after-5pm hacks — these are things you only learn from living here.
SurfX launches publicly in June 2026. We're starting with Qatar, and we're starting with the operators we trust — wake schools at The Pearl, the major beach clubs, hotel pools with credible day-pass offers, and a curated set of family experiences. Over time we'll add more categories and more venues, but we'd rather ship a tight directory of places we'd actually send a friend than a long list of everything in the city.
The founder
I've lived in Doha for years and spent more weekends than I'd like to admit on the water. SurfX is the version of "weekend planning" I always wanted: one app, real availability, no chasing.
